In Australia, anyone can complete an unsupervised online questionnaire over a weekend and call themselves a personal trainer. We reject that model completely.
Every coach on the Mercer Street floor holds a university degree or an accredited diploma in exercise and sports science, exercise physiology, or human movement. We require formal study in biomechanics, anatomy, and neuromuscular physiology before anyone coaches a single member.
Our coaches are employed as permanent staff, not freelance contractors renting floor space. They are not incentivised by sales commissions or class headcounts; their sole responsibility is the biomechanical safety, progressive adaptation, and long-term health of the people in front of them.
Walking into a gym can feel intimidating, especially if you have had a past injury or twenty years away from training. Having coaches who understand clinical movement mapping means you are met by a measured allied-health professional, not an aggressive salesperson.
